…that’s what my husband stands for.
I teared up a bit.
This is the song “Love” that I wrote when I was listening to a lot of Ella Fitzgerald.

My beautiful friend, Elizabeth, married her longtime boyfriend, Brad, two days ago.
It was a beautiful wedding and I was so happy to be part of it. It was my very first time being a bridesmaid.
Whenever I go to weddings, they make me think about what comes after… the lifetime of struggling and growing together, the rainy days and movie marathons, the sunny picnics and moonlit walks, the off-rhythm dances and brushing your teeth together, the laughter and the seeking of God’s will in this new life you get to share. I am so excited for the day that I am finally able to reach that point with the man that I love. Weddings make me impatient, so I am trying as hard as I can to remain patient. I think everyone needs a little patience.
After all,

Waiting is one of the hardest things because it is not a one-time, this’ll-just-be-a-minute, not-long-now sort of thing. It is a continuous process that yells at you, “You are not ready!” and I want so desperately to be ready. I have loved him for nearly seven years and dated him for just over four. I know, with all that I am, that if anyone is worth waiting for, it is Paul. So I will continue to wait… patiently.
